The article denounces the Sunnah-Shī‘ah disputes. The author reminds the conflicting parties that the two ideologies derive from the same religion, Islām, which commands them to be united.
The author Zayn al-‘Ābidīn al-Rikābī warns of the "ideological self-destructive weapon" that is used against the Arab Muslim societies. Referring to the sectarian-torn Iraq and Lebanon, Zayn stresses that religion is employed to reach political ends. The sedition weapon is not targeting the Muslim-Christian relations but the Sunnī-Shī‘ah one.
The author of the article addresses the political leaders of the Sunnah and the Shī‘ah with a question as to whether there is reason for them to be fighting. Zayn explains that fighting and wars are only justified if a man’s or a state’s interests are threatened, which is not the case between the Shī‘ah and the Sunnah. He added that on the contrary, they have all the reason to peacefully co-exist.
Zayn gives evidence from the Islamic Sharī‘ah that both the Sunnah and the Shī‘ah share the same conviction. Who claims that Ahl al-Bayt venerated by the Shī‘ah are not following the sunnah, he asks. They follow the Sunnah of their grandfather, Prophet Muhammad as the Qur’ān commands them "Verily in the messenger of Allāh ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allāh and the Last Day, and remembereth Allāh much", [33:21, ‘The Meaning of the Glorious Qur’ān’ by Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall] and in "And whatsoever the messenger giveth you, take it. And whatsoever he forbiddeth, abstain (from it). "[59:7 IBID].
The author of the article also adds that Ahl al-Bayt are Imāms to the Sunnī. He refers to a Ḥadīth reported by Ja‘far Ibn Muhammad from which the Sunnī draw their Ḥajj rituals. His full name is Ja‘far al-Sādiq ibn Muḥammad al-Bāqir ibn ‘Alī Zayn alĀbidīn ibn al-Husayn ibn ‘Alī ibn Abī Tālib, states Zayn.
The author of the article says that Muslims should be united in stance according to God’s commands: "And hold fast, all of you together, to the cable of Allāh, and do not separate" [3:103, IBID] and "And obey Allāh and His messenger, and dispute not one with another lest ye falter and your strength depart from you; but be steadfast!" [8:46 IBID]. Muslims should unite against their "common enemy," Zayn says.
