Copts are worried that Muslims may seek revenge after the death of a Muslim man in al-Amīrīyah.
Al-Sharq al-Awsat says Copts fears revenge in response to the murder of a young Muslim man by his Christian brother-in-law. These fears were expressed by Jirjis Nāthān, priest of the Holy Virgin church in al-Amīrīyah. He added that conciliation is underway and that no one accepts what happened.
Member of Parliament Mahmūd Mujāhid says the dead man’s family have refused to receive condolences, which confirms that they are going to take revenge.
