Arab intellectual Prince al-Hassan Bin Talāl said the Arab revolutions embody the will of the peoples, adding autocracy has kept the dream of Arabism at bay.
"I would agree with the Shaykh of the Azhar in his talk about civil state and I would even wish Islamists to return and lead the intellectual movement worldwide," said Prince Hassan in an interview to Ahmad al-Muslimānī's al-Tab'ah al-Ūlá (First Edition) TV show.
He said that the political Islam will never be flourishing before poverty is eliminated, calling for a global fund to be established exclusively for zakāh (alms) money.
Prince Hassan noted that arms and oil sales are what preoccupy the region, dismissing remarks that Arab countries are the richest and poorest in the same time.
