Members of the founding committee of the International Islamic Council for Daawa and Aid ask for a united position against the Israeli Judaization of Jerusalem and the American religious persecution act.
The Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Dr Mohammed Said Tantawi, says that they will avoid discussing issues related to doctrine in the debate because this may lead to negative results. Dr. Abdallah Ibn Abdallah Al Mohsen Al Torky says that Islam is the final rightful religion and that Mohammed is the final prophet. Al Torky suggested the dialogue should not be called a dialogue with other religions since Qur’an clearly says: "And whose seeketh as religion other than the surrender (to Allah) it will not be accepted from him, and he will be a loser in the hereafter." Al-Torky asks for co-ordination between Islamic parties all over the world to emphasize their unity.
Speakers highlighted the danger of Judaization which will affect Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque. This movement will impose a new reality on the city that will be difficult to change. Speaker finds that the new American law which is called" free indoctrination" is a clear political interference in the affairs of other countries which America considers to be practicing religious persecution. In this way Americans consider themselves protectors of other doctrines while their scorn of these doctrines is clear. An example of this disregard are the phrases which America displayed on the America On Line (AOL) network. These phrases sound the same as the Holy Qur’an. Among those verses are the ’verses’ of "Al Muslimun", "Al Mu’mnun" and " Al Wasaia". Al Muslimun says: "Muslims, you are under a great delusion. And who seeketh other than Allah and his messiah (Christ), will gain but hell and pain in the hereafter. And with gloomy faces they will appeal for forgiveness but God will do His will." Scorn reaches the utmost in the verse of " Al-Wasaia" which says "We send you as a preacher to humanity to warn them. You will have the power of management". The committee also high lighted the case of teaching the book ’Mohammed’, written by [Maxime] Rodinson, the French Orientalist. Students at the American University are taught the Islamic culture by American orientalist professors or by Egyptians who are affected by this orientalist approach. They examine Islam in a critical way trying to raise doubts about the Holy Qur’an and the prophetic tradition. The members of the committee say "We demand of the Ministry of Higher Education to supervise teaching at this university and to increase [the number of ] Egyptian Moslem professors on the other hand the Egyptian family should keep an eye on its children and instruct them in true Islam.
