Dr. Nasr Farid Wasel, the state’s Mufti, denounced the allegations of the British Sunday Telegraph, confirming it is perverted and could not be believed. A country like Egypt that respects all heavenly religions cannot commit persecution or religious discrimination against other religions’ followers.

The Mufti warned that such false accusations provoke hostility and antagonism among people and tensions among countries. The world has become a small village where all should seek peace and improve their political, economic, cultural and religious relations. Dr. Wasel warned Egyptians about listening to these allegations, otherwise, they will suffer political, sectarian and religious strife. He called upon all Egyptians to be united under one leadership.
