The Governor of Menufiya, Adly Hussein, has issued a number of decisions to restore and subsidize the churches in the governorate. The churches include the Church of Mari Gerguis in a Christian village in the district of Quesna and the Church of the Virgin Mary in Kafr Abdu district of Quesna.


In addition the governor has agreed to the building of the guest house and the surrounding fence of the church of the Angel Michael. Following the Republic decision to delegate [new powers to] governors, the governor of Menufiya has also earlier issued a decision for the restoration of nine other churches, making a total of 13 churches.
