On the invitation of the Egyptian Embassy to the Vatican, and in cooperation with Al-Ahram foundation, Dr. Mohammed Selim Al-’Awa, executive member of the council of Arab Team for Islamic-Christian Dialogue, presented a number of lectures on Islam as a source of legislation in countries with a Muslim majority, guarantees for status of non-Muslims, and human rights in Islam. The lectures took place in Rome at the headquarters of Catholic universities and institutes affiliated to the Vatican. The lectures were organized as a contribution to strengthening Islamic-Christian dialogue and to promoting the image of Islam in western countries. Dr. Al-’Awa met during his Vatican visit with Cardinal Arrinse, Chairman of the Papal Council for Inter-Religious Dialogue.
