The leader of a mystical Muslim sect who reportedly claims she can resurrect the Prophet Muhammad was jailed after a hearing in Egypt’s state security court, officials said on November 13.

Manal Wahid Manei and some 50 of her followers were arrested on November 12 in the Cairo neighborhood of Sayida Zeinab for allegedly holding occult meetings and claiming to bring the Muslim prophet back from the dead.

She and 28 other members of the group were ordered to jail for 15 days while 20 more were released on bail "for humanitarian reasons," the security officials said.
