Hisham Kassem, chairman of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights [EOHR]
denied rumors about threats from some international organizations to stop funding the EOHR in response to the organization’s negative position on the homosexuals now subject to trial.



Hafez Abu Sa’ada, secretary general of EOHR described the homosexuals’ case as "ugly" and said that the organization would not adopt it. Rumors followed the statement that Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and other donating organizations had stopped their funding. However, Hisham Kassem affirmed that the only organization to have protested was the International Organization for the Protection of the Rights of Homosexuals (IGLHRC)... Apart from this they were only rumors; Kassem believes they reopen the issue of the sources of finance for civil society organizations...
