America continues its preparations to launch its crusade against Arabs and Muslims. All Islamic scholars unanimously agree that any cooperation with America in its war against Afghanistan or any Arabic or Islamic country is haram [religiously forbidden]. Also all of them called for joining the jihad with our brothers in Afghanistan. The refusal of the Egyptian government to cooperate with the USA in its war shows this. We in the Labor Party support the refusal of our government. We also stress that Egyptians will not accept anything but this refusal. We stress that there cannot be any compromise between the crusade on the one side and the Arabic and Islamic nation on the other side.
It is important for us, in Egypt, and for all the governments and peoples of the Arabic and Islamic countries to evaluate the situation in the right way, to be able to take the right actions. The legal action that makes it a must to help Dar Al-Islam against Dar Al-Harb, regardless of the power of the enemy, has been agreed upon.
If this ideological [here related to religion] attitude is the basis of the right action that will be taken, it is also important before taking that action to consider the power of Arabs and Muslims and the power of America, especially after the attacks of September 11.
Years ago, we declared our rejection of the theory that the USA is the sole greatest power the controls the world. We also rejected the saying that the world is unilateral in its polarization. We pointed out more than once that if America was the greatest power, it was not the only power. We pointed out that America started its decline after the second Gulf War and that there were many other powers, such as China, Russia, India, Europe and Japan that started their assent. In addition we made it clear that the Arabic-Islamic powers, in spite of their disharmony and lack of unity, were growing. Now after the attacks of September 11, all these facts have become clearer.
I said that America wanted to carry out any military attacks against anyone to regain its lost dignity because such dignity is the thing that protects the American imperialistic interests. The greatest power that frequently resorts to using rockets and missiles to impose its control frightens no one any longer. Those who are against it are increasing every day. America has delayed its military attacks not for technical reasons, as it can attack Afghanistan or any place in the world in a few hours. America has delayed its attacks because of international objections to them.
The Arabic attitude towards the attacks:
The Arabic attitude towards the American attacks is revolving around the official Egyptian stance that refuses to join the American crusade. Egypt’s clinging to this stance will help greatly in making the Arabic countries adopt the same attitude.
The Islamic attitude:
Iran, as an Islamic country, rejected any military cooperation with America and any attacks against Muslim Afghanistan. Such a thing is practical evidence that the tyranny and injustice of America helps in uniting Muslims. If this closeness between Iran and Afghanistan continues it will be seen as one of the good fruits of the American crusade.
As for Pakistan, I pointed out before that it is between the millstones, America and the Taliban. Still, the fact that all the Pakistanis are against America’s attack on the Islamic Afghanistan, would affect the Pakistani attitude. The same thing happens in India where the people reject any attacks being carried out against Afghanistan.
At the end of the article, I want to remind you of the Qur’anic verse that says, "Fight them! Allah will chastise them at your hands, and He will lay them low and give you victory over them, and He will heal the breasts of folk who are believers." 9
