Article full text:

The Bishop of

Naj‘ Hamādī has been asked by Pope Shenouda to recognize Dr. Rushdī Wāsif

Bahmān’s rights as author of the book on Saint al-Anbā Badābā. Dr. Rushdī

Wāsif Bahmān is vice-president of the Clerical Orthodox Faculty and composed the book, as

commissioned by the diocese of Naj‘ Hamādī. The Bishop of Naj‘

Hamādī, Anbā Kyrillos, has however made the book into a film without paying or recognizing Dr.

Bahmān’s rights. Pope Shenouda has tried to mediate in the conflict, asking Kyrillos to confirm the

legalities as stipulated by police records. The pope even prohibited the bishop from praying in Cairo and

Alexandria as a means to put him under pressure. The author notes that Kyrillos has faced many other

problems in

his diocese that he has not been able to deal with.
