Being radical, fanatic, or terrorist has become a prior description for any one or group of people opposed to yielding to the American hegemony and choosing to struggle for the enjoyment of their own wealth, the author says.
The Western powers attempt to implement an idea, into the Middle East region, that the American–style democracy and liberalism seem to be the only way out for their political, economical, and social problems.
However, near past bitter experiences prove that any of the Western solutions serve no one but their own benefits as well as the Israeli avarices, the author believes.
The U.S. ruling trend of the new conservatives allying the Christian Zionism has been propagating an idea of the inevitable clash between the Islamic civilization on the one hand, and the West on the other hand. They think that Islam constitutes a serious threat to the Western civilizations and cultures.
As a result, George W. Bush has embodied such fears by his famous statement delivered after events of September 11, in which he described the current war on terrorism as ’a new crusade.’
The author believes that the Bush administration is the most to show a motivation for wiping out all what is concerned with Islam and Muslims. It, in order to do this, has exploited the bloody events in 2001 for waging a war on Afghanistan followed by another one on Iraq.
For four purposes, the U.S. has gone for such too-exaggerated military campaigns.
First, it aims at showing Islam as a good solid for producing terrorism.
Second, it considers the rightful resistance against its military invasion to be terrorism, which goes into benefits of its abiding ally Israel that regards resisting groups, such as Hamās and Hizb Allāh, as terrorists.
Third, it wants to ensure the control over the world richest sources of oil in the Gulf region;
Fourth, it endeavors to establish new markets in the Middle East for its industrial and agricultural products;
The author refers to a U.S. vice president Dick Cheney previous statement, delivered before the September 11 incidents, in which he gave a green light for Israel for the assassination of members of Palestinian resisting factions on a plea of protecting its national security.
The author sums up that the U.S. is ready to proclaim anyone, even those who defend their countries, as a terrorist in favor of its own interests in the Arab world.
