A group of Muslims and Christians from Alexandria filed an appeal with the Supreme Administrative Court calling for a final ruling to preserve the buildings related to the Monastery of Saint Clare in Alexandria.
A ruling had been issued by the Administrative Court in Alexandria giving the contracting company the right to deal with the church.
The prime minister issued a decision last year deeming the Saint Clare Church an antiquity that should be preserved.
