The Supreme Administrative Court has postponed ruling in the lawsuit filed by Muhammad Hijāzī, the Muslim convert to Christianity against the president of the state until November 17, 2009. In his lawsuit, Hijāzī demands the right to change his religion in all official documents to “Christian,” or treat him like a Bahā’ī by writing a dash “-“ in the religion field in his official papers.
Mamdūh reported that many Muslim lawyers joined the defense team of the government against Hijāzī.
