Article full text:
The National Sports Council settled an argument which rose concerning the travel of the Olympic football team to Jerusalem to play a friendly match against the Palestinian team. The council decided to postpone the match for an indefinite amount of time. The decision raised crucial objections from sport and political circles. Samīr Zāhir, president of the Football Association, declared that Eng. Hasan Saqr, head of the National Sports Council, received high directives to postpone the visit until further notice. Zāhir confirmed that such a decision was expected, particularly after the recent events that took place in Jerusalem. [Referring to Israeli military crackdowns against Palestinian protestors]
