Q. Reader: Why do we see homosexuality and rape in the Vatican?
A. This is not true. The presence of some incidents does not mean that the Vatican is corrupt. However, these incidents arise from human disturbances that are found in all cultures.

Q. Egyptian woman: Why do you insist on being controversial?
A. I am not controversial and I do not seek problems as some people claim. As evidence for this, look at the fact that I was fiercely attacked when my writings were first published but such attacks have stopped for more than a year. I believe that it is my job to write; while criticizing and analyzing what I write is not my job.

Q. Jacqueline Rif‘at: why do you avoid discussing Islamic history when you have no qualms about discussing Christian history?
A. This is not true Jacqueline. I have criticized Islamic history a lot, insofar as it deserves to be criticized. The idea, in the first place, is whether the religion is unified or not. Although Islamic history is full of oppositions and contradictions, Islam, as a religion, has been able to withstand these attempts.

Q. Al-Yawm al-Sābi‘: Why are you famous for criticizing Christian history only?
A. I do not know why people promote this idea. Although I like ‘Amr Ibn al-‘Ās, I did criticize him when he started telling children to pay the jizyah.

Q. What do you think is the difference between conquering and occupation?
A. There is no difference except that occupation means military intervention is temporarily while in conquests, military intervention is permanent and becomes part of the country.
