Al-Hayāh reports on a Christian Iraqi family’s fears of terrorism against Christians. The year 2005 witnessed strong attacks against Christians in Iraq and about 100,000 Christians have been displaced from Mosul after dozens have been killed. 
 
Zayd’s family is not the only to be displaced in Iraq. Abū Roney’s family in Mosul is also waiting to emigrate to Europe through the International Organization for Migration.
 
Al-Hayāh reports that according to unofficial statistics the number of Christians in Iraq has decreased from a 1,300,000 to 700,000 nowadays. Refugees comprise some 200,000.
 
The Ministry of Immigration has announced that 1,148 Christian families came returned home, in spite of the privileges some countries had offered them to emigrate.
 
Minister of Immigration ‘Abd al-Samad Rahmān Sultān asserted the keenness of the government to provide good conditions and support to Iraqi refugees who want to come back to Iraq.
