For the second consecutive day, Copts gathered in Mar Girgis church in Kafr al-Dawwār in Lower Egyptian governorate of Beheira. The youths are gathering to protest against the kidnap of 19-year-old Copt Christina by Muslim Muhammad Hasan al-Shahhāt.

Father Stephanus, of Mar Girgis church, stated that there were ongoing negotiations with the security apparatus to bring Christina back. The church was cut off from electricity for five minutes in an attempt to disperse the demonstrators.

Father Stephanus reported that the young Christian disappeared last Sunday and that she was friends with a Muslim girl, whose brother is accused of kidnapping Christina.

The girl's family reported their daughter’s disappearance to the police, and negotiations are being conducted with the security services.
