Article full text:

A huge controversy was stirred up among Giza lawyers when some Coptic members of the Syndicate of Lawyers established a group for syndicate activities called "Mar Mīnā". The leadership structure of this group is constituted mainly of Coptic lawyers. Moreover, it introduced a committee called the ‘spiritual committee’ which has an unclear role within the group. The issue has raised a lot of fears in the syndicate as it appears as though there is a kind of sectarian division among lawyers, a thing which may result in dire consequences.

Ayman Hishām Abū Yūsuf, member of the general syndicate and the committee for sub syndicates, states that the existence of such a group inside the syndicate is an unprecedented dangerous step. The establishment of any group requires the endorsement of the general syndicate, he points out, adding that he does not think that the syndicate of lawyer's head has permitted the establishment of such a sectarian group.
