[Editor: As stated elsewhere in this issue, Sādiq is a frequently outspoken and controversial character. Many of his views are highly offensive, particularly to Arab Muslims. Writers in the Egyptian media, do not need to speak about the “enemies of Egypt abroad and the Jewish/Zionist Lobby” to make their case against him. Either an article should provide objective, credible coverage – and this means using direct quotes from Sādiq himself – or his views should be properly discussed and dispatched in an editorial/opinion column. The two should not be mixed.]
In a message sent to the Jewish lobby and the enemies of Egypt abroad, Maoris Sādiq, President of the foundation [Reviewer: name of foundation is not mentioned Editor: I presume this refers to the National American Coptic Assembly], called on a number of countries that support Egyptian Christians, including Israel, urging them to ask the United Nations and the Security Council to apply immediate international supervision over Egypt. He added that they are currently studying carefully the Christian issue in Egypt.
Maoris Sādiq added in his document that the massacre of Naj‘ Hammādī showed the whole world how Egypt treats Christians. He added the result of this treatment is discrimination and excluding Christians from occupying major positions in the country, like being presidents of syndicates and universities as well as diplomatic and military positions.
Sādiq asked for the formation of a committee for international supervision in Egypt that would be concerned with forming a special administration, 25% of which would be Christians, in order to run military, diplomatic and security affairs in Egypt. Sādiq also called the US and the Jewish Lobby in America to support this committee.
