The author reports on the death of a prominent figure in the Chaldean Catholic Church, Metropolitan Yūsuf Ibrāhīm on January 2, 2010. The funeral was presided over by Cardinal ‘Ammānū’īl III, patriarch of Chaldean Catholic, and the presence of a delegate from President Mubārak. The metropolitan was born in 1940 in Cairo and after he completed his study he majored in civil and church law. He held a number of positions from 1964 until he was ordained bishop for Cairo bishopric in 1984. He served the church for nearly half a century until his death in 2010.
