Father Marqus Jirjis Dānyāl, administrator of Christian preaching in prisons’ sector, confirms that Christian prisoners get their full rights inside Egyptian prisons and adds that prisoners are more committed to Christian teachings than those who enjoy this freedom outside the prisons. He mentions that they used to borrow the straw mats from mosques when there was no place for them to pray with the prisoners, but now there is a better place dedicated to Christians for praying inside prisons. The priest, who has been working inside prisons for more than 30 years, states that he attends the execution to make sure the prisoner is reciting specific prayers before his death.
