Magdī Salāmah starts his article by shedding light on the criticism directed by the National Democratic Party in its official internet site against the Muslim Brotherhood. The criticism was related to two critical issues: citizenship and Copts. Salāmah stresses that the issue is not who the National Party is criticizing, because it is normal that it attacks competitors, but it is rather weird to accuse competitors of two charges which it is also guilty of.
The National Party accuses the Muslim Brotherhood group to be against citizenship discrimination against Copts and women. However, according to Salāmah, regardless of the real stance of the Brotherhood, it has been proven that it is the National Democratic Party who is the first enemy against citizenship and Copts. Salāmah reflects on different instance, such as their stance against issuing a common worship law and refusing to erase religious identification from the National Identification card.
Finally, Salāmah sheds light on how the National Party expresses its honour at being a hard believer in, and supporter of, citizenship. This is proved by 64 seats specified in the Parliament for women, and nominated Copts in the elections. In fact, the Party's statements provoked the anger of many people who wrote comments criticizing them and accusing them of devastating Egypt and spreading corruption. These opponents considered what the Party said as an insult against Copts.
