The Egyptian Coptic Orthodox question the banning of some religious books by Church leaders
Article full text:
The Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church issued a decision to confiscate a book entitled: "Illuminated Words of the Fathers of the Church", published by the St. John al-Habīb Publishing House, supervised by Bishop Peter, Secretary of Pope Shenouda III, and supervisor of the Church's official channel "Aghabī", the same publishing house whose book "God Calls" was confiscated by the Synod in May 2009 after having been in publication for ten years!

Hence, Copts are  questioning the reasoning questioning the reasoning behind the trial of Bishop Peter. If the house he is supervising publishes books contradicting the Orthodox faith, especially that the announced reason behind the book's confiscation is that it entails a heresy of "deification of man," which Pope Shenouda termed as a modern heresy which was the subject of ecclesiastical thought in 2006 and  attributed to some monks of Dayr Abū Maqqār, and Dr. George Bibāwī.

According to the Pope, such thoughts are serious because they are expressed by people from inside the Church, compromising the Orthodox faith and most seriously attributing their mistakes to the saints, whether via the misinterpretation of what the saints have said or mistranslations of their sayings, literally insisting that Christians are the partners of God in nature.
