The author voices his deep dissatisfaction over the decline of   cultural discourse which is manifested in the statement issued by the Azhar Scholars Front Assembly, entitled "Brothels' Boys: The Fools of a Thousand Nights.” He said that the title surprised him and pushed him to read the available statements of this assembly which are targeted toward youth. How could those so-called scholars ascribe themselves to the Azhar and use such prudent language? The most serious is that the statement claims to be speaking on behalf of Islam. Those scholars have wronged "a thousand nights" although they are supposed to be aware of their heritage.

It is worth noting that "a thousand nights" was printed in 1835 under the supervision of Sheikh ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Saftī al-Sharqāwī who was a prominent poet and scholar of the Azhar. Then came Sheikh ‘Abd al-Rahman Muhammad who was a prominent grammarian. The book was re-printed in 1884 in the ‘Uthmānī printing house, owned by ‘Uthmān ‘Abd al-Rāziq who coined the term "a thousand nights" as a piece of art.

All old heritage books' proofreaders of the 19th century were prominent scholars characterized with accuracy, dedication and loyalty. Hence, the modifications that were made have not brought about any mistakes.
