Christian leaders and activists in Luxor called upon Ahmad al-Tayyib, the grand Shaykh of the Azhar, to intervene to discover the mysterious disappearance of the Christian girl Marianne Girgis Marqus from her family’s house in Bayādyyah. They further called for laying pressure to discover the disappearance of the Christian girl of ‘Isnā, Kathrin Ramzī, who disappeared two weeks ago in mysterious circumstances.
 
The police have intensified its presence in the Bayādyyah streets after the Muslim man, Ibrāhim Husīn Mahmūd Rashwān, was accused by the family of the girl of Bayādyyah of being involved in her disappearance.
