In his article, ‘Atā refers to a magazine published for the first time in Cairo in 1892, al-Hilāl, as a model of a moderate and objective magazine in dealing with Coptic issues and crises. The author gives an example of the issues that the magazine monitored neutrally and objectively, the crisis between Pope Kyrillos V and the members of the Community Council. The magazine addressed this crisis in a number of consecutive issues without siding with a particular party. The discord between the Pope and the members of the Community Council resulted in the dismissal of the Pope from the presidency of the Council by a khedive (Turkish word for viceroy) decision and the appointment of a secretary to run Church affairs. Notably, the magazine desired the crisis to be resolved in all its articles that covered the issue and showed great happiness when the crisis was over. It was an honest attempt by the magazine to participate in the solution of the Egyptian institution crisis, which is considered an excellent example when dealing with the importance of objectively.
