Article full text:

Khālid al-Birrī, a lawyer, made a report to the Attorney General, ‘Abd al-Majīd Mahmūd, against Dr. Su‘ād Sālih, professor of comparative fiqh at the Azhar University, accusing her of stirring fitnah against Copts, which in turn threatens national unity in Egypt.

However, Sālih insists on her opinion that Christians should not assume power. She asserted that her opinion is based on religious principle, which she is not willing to violate in order to satisfy people.

Sālih declared that she left the Wafd Party, which she joined only a few days ago, after the Party attacked her statement, saying that it does not go with the principles of democracy and citizenship that Wafd supports.

Sālih believes that her opinion that non-Muslims cannot rule Muslims is not offensive to other religions.
