Article summary:
This article deals with the debate between the Azhar Scholars Front and Jābir Asfūr concerning the “Arabian Nights.”

Article full text:
When Dr. Jābir Asfūr defended the book "Arabian Nights", he was defending freedom of opinion and creativity. In his articles, published in al-Ahrām daily, he wondered how those claiming that they belong to the Azhar could have reached this degree of nonsense and social decline.

Accordingly, the Azhar Scholars Front replied to Asfūr in a statement directed to the Ministry of Culture, terming him a fool. Hence, Asfūr decided to sue Yahyá Hablūsh, head of the Front who is living in Kuwait.

Worth noting that Dr. Asfūr has previously said that he discovered that the Front is dissolved by an Administrative Court ruling, and has no official existence, after violating its assigned purposes.

Moreover, what Dr Asfūr doesn't know is that Hablūsh is not living in Kuwait willingly, as the Cairo Criminal Court, on August 23, sentenced him to a one year imprisonment for disgracing the Azhar Grand Imām.
