Pope Shenouda III has confiscated three books by Father Mattá al-Maskīn - "The Pentecost", "Holy Spirit "(Two Volumes) and "The Eternal Church" - on the grounds that they propagated the Protestant denomination (Western ideology) and ran counter to Orthodox teachings.
The step sparked a shock in Christian circles that sympathized with the deceased cleric and his confiscated books, some of them already issued in 1960.
