Bishouy al-Basīt, the director of the Church Chronics Center, said he was planning to issue a statement calling on the Egyptian Church to observe the teachings of the Holy Bible regarding Christian women's wearing of a hijab or headscarf.

 

Basīt said that there was a bishop in Upper Egypt who already started to apply these teachings with the congregation of his bishopric churches, adding that Christian women began to respond positively to these demands.
