The author laments the loss of Dr. Nasr Hāmid Abū Zayd, describing his various works and projects. The author states that most people did not appreciate his greatness as he tried to get rid of the ancestral thinking to create a more enlightened Islam. As a result, he was exiled from Egypt. The author regards him as highly as Shaykh Muhammad ‘Abduh, an early 20th century innovator in Islamic jurisprudence. The author finally condemns the people who accuse him of being an apostate.
