The author urges Islamic thinkers to conform more to Egyptian and modern civilization. Hijāzī states that there is a need for modern Islam that does not resist democracy or rationale. He praises Dr. al-Tayyib, the newly appointed Grand Shaykh of the Azhar, for his efforts to expose the benevolent and loving nature of Islam. The author suggests that verses should be explained according to their circumstances in order to be better understood.
