 The Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses, unrecognized as Christian denominations by the Egyptian Church, are excluded from the new personal status law for Christians. Zakarīyā Yūwāqīm, a Jehovah's Witnesses elder, states that they are Christians and believes that Jesus was a prophet and not God, attacking the three Egyptian main denominations.
