In an attempt to prevent sectarian fitnah and consolidate national unity, Copts formed a football team called “Abū Shūshah B” to participate in the “sport friendship” tournament held in Abu Tisht in Qena under the slogan “Egypt: One Homeland."

The teams include Muslims and Copts in an attempt to enforce communication between the youth during the summer vacation. Sābir Dawūd, the leader of the Coptic team indicated that involving a Coptic team in the tournament stresses the effective partnership between Muslims and Copts, especially after Naj' Haammādī incidents.
