Al-Jumhūryyah interviews Najīb Jibrā’īl, head of the Egyptian Union for Human Rights, who has proposed a draft law for adoption to the Ministry of Justice to be included within the draft of the unified personal status law for Christians.
The law aims to fight child trafficking and overcome the phenomenon of street children, stated Jibrā’īl.
The law also stipulates that adoption should be among Christians only and states a punishment for adopting Muslim children.
