The author states that there was a disagreement between the priest of Dayr Mawās and his wife. The Priest allegedly abused his wife (Kāmilīyā), and claimed that her father supported him, which made Kāmilīyā move with some of her relatives in Cairo, after not tolerating her husband's abuse.
After the wife left her husband, some demonstrations erupted at the Saint Mark's Cathedral in 'Abāsīyah demanding her return.
