It was said that Pope Shenouda asked for the files of Bishop Aghābyūs of Dayr Mawās and Father Tidāwus to refer them to church prosecution for they “lied” to the people and put the church in a difficult situation.
Some think that the crisis of Kāmīlyā Shihātah may teach the church a lesson to put an end to the phenomenon of hasty marriages for ordination and to revise its regulations concerning priests’ practise of sex.
