 The author comments on a story published in al-Dustūr on August 3 reporting a meeting held between sufi shaykhs, a representative of the U.S. Administration, and a representative of the State Security aimed at a means of coordination between the sūfī methods in Egypt and the U.S. Administration to spread sūfīsm among American Muslims as an example of moderate Islam. The author wonders about the presence of a state security representative in the meeting.

The author points out that three years ago RAND Corporation called for the spreading of  sūfīsm, which is far from politics, among Muslim Americans.
