Obama’s statement supporting the construction of an Islamic building near Ground Zero in New York, which came a  few weeks before the legislative elections, raised many questions about Obama’s identity and his Muslim origin. Republicans in particular raised many questions, whose media manipulated the issue.

Obama subtly referred the whole issue to the influence of public opinion by doubting the “wisdom” of establishing the Islamic center in his second statement. It seems that the media has not noticed the indication of this.
