In his fortnightly sermon in Alexandria, Pope Shenouda stressed that the person innocent of adultery is given a permission for a second marriage pointing out that adulterous person can be forgiven when he repents. However, they are not allowed to marry for a second time. The pope explained that forgiveness does not prevent punishment.
Pope Shenouda condemned priests who recive money in return for prayers and criticized the congregation of youth in the church yard during sermons.
