On the sidelines of the national unity meeting in al-Minya, Governor Ahmad Diyā’ al-Dīn stressed that his meeting with Coptic Orthodox Pope Shenouda III did not tackle the Maghāghah Bishopric crisis.
The governor pointed out that the meeting has upset plans by some Copts to bring pressures to bear on him.
The governor declined to comment on the issue of Kāmīliyā Shihātah, pointing out that it may stir sectarian sentiments.
On the other hand, Coptic MP 'Īd Labīb asserted that Kāmīliyā is still Christian.
