The author argues that the controversy about the TV series al-Jamā‘ah (The Group), which deals with the emergence and development of the Muslim Brotherhood, is very healthy.

However, he criticized the Brotherhood's accusations against Wahīd Hāmid, the author, of having written the series upon orders by the security agencies.

At the same time, however, he believes that the security officers were depicted in a very positive way in dealing with the group members, which is not realistic.

The Muslim Brotherhood stated that it will produce another series to reflect its own version of the story.
