Novelist Anis El-Degheidy refused to appear before the Investigation Authorities after receiving accusations of sacrilege for writing a novel that depicted the Muslim prophet in a way considered offensive by lawyers Hassan Maher and Montasser El-Zayyat. This is the third time that El-Degheidy has rejected summons from the Investigation Authorities on this case.
