One hundred and fifty-five of Egypt's top university professors, journalists, and lawyers signed a petition yesterday that urged President Mubārak to put an end to the Kamilia Shehata controversy as it is his "constitutional duty." As a solution, they proposed that the Church allow Kamilia to speak to the media. They added that failing to do so would raise questions surrounding the Church's subjection to the law.
