In an event organized by the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, Grand Mufti Dr. Aly Gomaa declared that Islam allows absolute freedom of religious belief. When asked about a Coptic girl who converted to Islam, he said that he didn't know of the case, but that if she wanted to convert back it would be permissible for her to do so.
