Article summary:

The report says that a Coptic woman brought a case seeking dissolution of her marriage on the grounds that her husband is impotent and she still is a virgin.

The husband initially took the matter lightly, as he knew he was not impotent and that he had ongoing sexual relations with his wife. He received a surprise when his wife produced a medical certificate of virginity endorsed by Bishop Bula of Tantā, the Head of the General Clerical Council for Personal Affairs.

The court however, ordered a second examination by the official medical examiner, which concluded that the wife had not been a virgin for some time.

The husband has complained to the pope, pointing out that his wife's lawyer is also the lawyer of Bishop Bula.
