Mīlād Mankarious, president of the Coptic association for protecting juveniles, prisoners, and mentally-ill offenders, published a paid advertisement in Watanī appealing to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces and the Cabinet to release a number of imprisoned Christians who protested in Maspero.
Twenty Christians had been arrested in Maspero, protesting the demolition of the Church of the Two Martyrs in 'Ātfīh.
