In addition, Badī’ emphasized the independence of the Freedom and Justice party from the Muslim Brotherhood and the possibility of choosing Copts and women as the party’s chairman.

The group announced once more that none of its members are going to compete in the upcoming presidential elections.

In a conference organized by the MB on April 11, 2011, Eng. Khayrat al-Shātir, MB Deputy Murshid, said that MB will not support Dr. 'Abd al-Mun'im Abū al-Futūh, member of the MB's Shūrá Council, if he ran for presidency in the upcoming elections.
