Major General Mamdūh Muqalad, the head of the prosecution office in al-Minya governorate said that the Ministry of Interior Affairs are exerting its effort in three governorates (Cairo, Minya, and Asyut) to find two Christian women who disappeared in Nazlat 'Abdīn village in Minya on Sunday, June 12, 2011.

Muqalad added that both women, Christine and Nancy, are underage. Therefore, according to the law they are not permitted to announce their conversion to Islam in the Azhar headquarters, nor can they officially be declared as married because they have no Identification cards. Everyone  involved in their disappearance will be punished by law.

In Sawt al-Ummah, page 4, June 18, 2011, beside covering the story of Christine and Nancy, Sawt al-Ummah reported on another Christian woman missing in Abū Qurqās town in al-Minya governorate. The woman is called Martha Hilmī Yūsuf, 18-years-old, who was going to get married in a month. Rumors in the village circulated that she ran because she does not want to get married.

In al-Shurūq al-Jadīd, page 3, June 17, 2011, hundred of Copts resumed protesting on June 16, 2011, in front of al-Minya prosecution office after the failure of security apparatuses to find Christine and Nancy.

In al-Ahram, page 43, June 17, 2011, the fathers of the two underage women accused six people of kidnaping their daughters in the police investigation [Read original text in Arabic].
